Kelvin’s youthful indiscretions was the first step of destined events that took him from being nearly homeless, to gaining favor from the homeless community, to a dream, to a vision that would show him how he could feed and clothe a community homeless population. God has indeed allowed Kelvin to not only survive many trials but to prosper and fulfill his purpose in life helping the less fortunate in the community.

In August 2016, he decided to step out on faith and create an organization that would be ideal for the homeless community. By November of 2016, Kelvin took the steps to make his vision and dream of helping the homeless a reality.

Things begin to take shape using a portion of his weekly salary, his time, and his resources he started giving back to his community with helping the people less fortunate than him. By doing the following:

  • Participating in the Hosea Williams Feed the Homeless on Christmas Day.

  • He purchased necessary items such as toiletries, socks, and gloves, to make Christmas Gift Packs to deliver to the homeless men and women living under the Interstate 75 Bridge on Christmas Day

  • On a small scale, using his own money, Kelvin continued to feed the homeless in his local community.

By 2019, Kelvin was in a more favorable financial position to start his own non-profit organization making the Joseph Dream SAFEHOUSE, Inc. vision a reality. It’s one of the first of its kind, community based Not Only For Profit Organization in the Metro Atlanta Area.
